Scott Day and Jeff Orchard are the owners and operators of this venture. Together they formed what became their current operation, under the original name of CQB Solutions, in September of 2000 while they were still employed with the Kings County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO).

During their time with KCSO, Scott achieved the rank of Sergeant and Jeff was a Senior Deputy. They also served together on the Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (SERT) with Scott as Team Leader and Jeff as an Element Leader. SERT was tasked with Special Operations within the Jails and Courts. SERT handled riot control, cell extractions, hostage rescue, high risk inmate movement/transportation and contraband interdiction surveillance.

They both instructed at the department level as well as at the Tulare/Kings County Police Academy in the subjects of Firearms, Impact Weapons, Weaponless Defense, Specialty Impact Munitions, Distraction Devices, Force on Force Simulations and Officer Survival Tactics. They also ran a Mobile Training Team (MTT) instructing other agencies in Riot Control and Jail Special Operations Team tactics.

Prior to joining the Kings County Sheriff’s Office, Scott served in the United States Air Force as a Security Policeman on the Security Specialist side. His primary tasking was Air Base Ground Defense. (He had nothing to do with downing that B-52, but he did get to watch it burn)
