As the use of rail handguards have become more prevalent, the need to easily mount a sling to the dovetail rails has become necessary. In response to this need GG&G developed a Sling Thing specifically for dovetail applications.
The side mount sling swivel provides the flexibility to mount the front sling attachment anywhere on the rails that meet your mission requirement. This dovetail mounting capability means you can choose between side mount sling swivel or top mounted convenience. As with all of our "Sling Things", this side sling mount provides a lightweight, durable, easy-to-install and inexpensive method for front sling attachment. As an added feature, it includes the limited swsivel rotation feature that helps to keep your sling from twisting. The sling mount is manufactured from tough 7075 billet aluminum alloy and is Type III black hard-coat anodized matte black per mil-spec.
The Sling Thing For Dovetails includes a Heavy Duty Enhanced 1 1/4" QD Sling Swivel. The HD QD Enhanced Sling Swivel has a larger quick detach button than a standard sling swivel for an easier and quicker transition. The button has concentric tactile grooves machined into the surface for more preceise finger or thumb placement. The wire diameter is thicker to provide a more robust sling attachment surface. The HD QD sling swivel is bead blasted and manganeese phosphated in a non-reflective matte black mil-spec finish. When coupled with the GG&G QD Rear Sling Thing, the sling can be quickly removed from the weapon.
